On the 26th of October, 2024, the SLP Study Day took place in Milan, titled "The Practice of Supervision." Here, we present Xavier Esqué's important contribution (AMS/ELP) on “Supervision Beyond the Clinical Case,” in which key points discussed during the day are revisited, relaunching the analytic practice beyond the therapeutic realm, with a question that nevertheless remains open, namely: how to provoke and sustain the desire for supervision? How does the desire to know operate in psychoanalysis? The very survival of psychoanalysis, the bond between the analyst and the psychoanalysis-partner, is therefore at stake, as argued in the comments of Sergio Caretto, Loretta Biondi, and the conclusions of Amelia Barbui, president of the SLPcf.
