Presentation of Jacques-Alain Miller’s Psychoanalytic courses: Loose parts, in Barcelona.
On April 22nd 2014, the presentation of the course "Loose parts" by Jacques-Alain Miller was made in Barcelona, and it counted for the occasion with the participation of its translator, Gerardo Arenas. The presentation was conducted by Laura Canedo, and the debate was animated by Estela Paskvan and Gabriela Galarraga. “Loose parts” is a course by Miller of which Gerardo Arenas has written on several occasions. The invitation to speak about it, in Barcelona allowed him to do it from another angle, which is possible because ‘’Loose parts" had the plan to constitute a true do it yourself project. This time Gerardo Arenas was interested in highlighting the feature of “Loose parts” as a war machine in order to see the ethical choice involved in this volume. Loose parts becomes a powerful and effective weapon for the necessary war of Psychoanalysts against Behaviorism in general, against the ideology in which it sinks its roots, and against therapies whose stem were born, fertilized by the same psychoanalysis, as Miller himself recognizes here. Gerardo Arenas is a psychoanalyst in Buenos Aires and La Plata, Member of the EOL, the WAP, the Oscar Masotta Institute and Lacanian Action. In addition to translating Jacques-Alain Miller; he has translated the 19th seminar "or worse..." by Lacan. He is the author of several books and collaborates on publications of the Psychoanalytic field. Laura Canedo is a psychoanalyst in Barcelona, member of the ELP and the WAP.
