Interview with Jacques-Alain Miller

On Monday 17th April , Jacques-Alain Miller gave an exclusive interview to Radio Lacan on the current political situation and the coming out from the reservation by psychoanalysts faced with the probability in France - which does not seem unlikley- of Marine Le Pen's success in the running to the presidential elections, in late April and early May 2017.
Ten questions were elaborated by a Radio Lacan team composed by Liliana Mauas, Patrick Almeida, Fabián Fajnwaks, Marco Mauas, Perla Miglin and Eduardo Scarone, in conjunction with Leonardo Gorostiza.
The interview was conducted by Patrick Almeida, and will be broadcast in a series of successive episodes, in extraordinary broadcasts, by Radio Lacan.

Episode 1
Question 1
By Patrick Almeida
The presence of psychoanalysts in politics has some recent precedents, like the mobilization after the call against the persecution suffered by Rafah Nached and Mitra Kadivar, in Syria and Iran. Those psychoanalysts were in danger in their own countries. But now we are in a different moment. Today's path invites us to join a more general politics – of parties, ballots and elections. We ask ourselves about the implications of taking this new step.

Episode 2
Question 2
By Patrick Almeida
The world turns to the right, the extreme right. Marx disappears; Freud is attacked. Religion is on the rise, and the world becomes feminised, as Lacan predicted. Can France, the country of the Enlightenment, do something to prevent this?
