Interview with Marie-Hélène Brousse by NODVS (the virtual newsprint of the Clinical Section of Barcelona)
In March 2013 Marie Hélène Brousse was interviewed by NODVS in regard to the publication of "Considerations on Hysteria", Jacques Lacan’s intervention, presented in Brussels in 1977, during his seminar "L'insu que sait..." (Unpublished). A first edition had appeared in Quarto Nº 90, established by Jacques-Alain Miller. In 2013, the Publishing House of the University of Granada reissued them, and on that occasion the interview with M. H. Brousse was carried out. "Considerations on Hysteria" and M. H. Brousse’s comments are a precedent and an important reference for the XXIII Annual Conference of the EOL: "Edges of the feminine. Sexualities, maternity, women of today". Beyond the familial order, where does the discourse of the hysteric analizants lead today? What are the implications that the straw man is no longer needed for women to approach the feminine?; how does the crisis of representation in contemporary culture impact on the elucidation of the feminine by Psychoanalysis? Here are some issues covered in the interview. Marie-Hélène Brousse is a psychoanalyst in Paris, AME of the ECF and member of the WAP. She is Professor in the Department of Psychoanalysis at the Paris 8 University and the Clinical Section of Paris-Ile de France. NODVS is the virtual newsprint of the Clinical Section of Barcelona.
