Soirée of the WAP: The Politics of the Psychoanalyst in the Era of the Freudian Field, Year Zero.
On January 29th, to mark the beginning of a new year of activity in the WAP, the Soirée of the WAP was held at the ECF in Paris. At its foundation are the terms of the wager that Jacques-Alain Miller launched with the ZADIG Network, both in his conference in Madrid last May and in his text "Freudian Field, Year Zero" from June. It is a new era for the WAP in the history of the psychoanalytic movement. Never before has this dimension of the Discourse of the Psychoanalyst been made explicit; although it was implicit since Jacques Lacan formalized it alongside the other three discourses -the Master, the University, the Hysterical subject- in a moment that demanded a response at the level of the subjectivity of our time. The current moment requires without doubt that we outline the consequences of this new dimension in a decisive way. Recall the wager: "Let's go back. I have a project: to be present, not only in the clinic, in individual psychology, as Freud says, but also in individual psychology as a collective, that is, in the political field. Not as a political party but as psychoanalysts who can contribute something to humanity in this moment of civilization or civilizations. This contribution, Lacan said it,repeated it and waited for it but did not get to actualise it. He did not get the opening that is ours today. He did not makethis step, although all his speech converges towards this point." How can we think about this step, that is current in the movement that runs through the Freudian Field and how is ZADIG articulated to it? Echoes of the Soirée of Paris. Our colleague Patrick Almeida interviewed several colleagues who attended, shortly after this event of the WAP in Paris. Interviews with Leonardo Gorostiza, Enric Berenguer, Fabián Naparstek and Sergio Laia.
