Lacan in China. Conference by Éric Laurent at the ECF in Paris
Lacan says that doubtlessly he is Lacanaian because he studied a little Chinese (Seminar 18: On a discourse that might not be a semblance). In the conference held on October 14th 2015 at the ECF, Eric Laurent gives some interpretations of this statement of Lacan's along with his own, relying on a reading of chapters IV and V of Seminar 18.
This continued interest of Lacan's in China and the Chinese resulted in the creation of the Centre of Psychoanalysis of Chengdu in Chengdu (China), which became a reference in China for Lacanian psychoanalysis. A group of colleagues** are preparing a Coloquium in Chengdu for the end of July 2016, on the theme “The Word and Psychoanalysis”. This evening was an opportunity to receive news about this initiative.
