The Psychoanalysis and Medicine Network - inscribed within the ICF in Spain- invited Lierni Irizar to share a morning's work about her recent book "The loss of the human. How suffering, illness and difference are treated”. In this context, we asked her to explain this text to us, and to give us her reflections on contemporary issues in medicine.
Lierni Irizar is a Social Worker, Doctor of Philosophy with her thesis "The Question of Subjectivity and Illness. An example: HIV/AIDS". She has a Masters in Mental Health. She practices psychoanalysis in Donostia (Basque Country, Spain). She is an Associate member of the Community of Donostia of the ELP. She has recently published the book "The loss of the human. How suffering, illness and difference are treated." Beta III Millennium Editions. Bilbao, 2014).
Araceli Teixidó is a psychoanalyst in Barcelona, member of the ELP and the WAP. She coordinates the Psychoanalysis and Medicine Network.
