Evening of the WAP: “The experience of psychoanalysis still new to face the triggering of the sacred”
Presenters: Gil Caroz, Carmen Cuñat, Jean-Daniel Matet and Fabián Naparstek.
The round table was chaired by Laure Naveau and Miquel Bassols.
The WAP has owned Jacques Lacan's wager of "meeting at its horizon the subjectivity of his time". With the recent assaults in Paris affecting and targeting mainly the press and the Jewish community, a whole country, a whole discourse have been targeted. This unprecedented situation, for the singular context of the proffered justifications and their claims, raises the question of the sacred, of blasphemy, which may or may not be affected by speech and language in the object of jouissance. As noted by JacquesAlain Miller "The sacred mobilises ecstasy and fury. People kill and die for it”. The now traditional Evening of the WAP Council has a particular highlight. It aims at dealing from different angles with this knot, still not deciphered, of our closest reality. Miquel Bassols.
